We'd have liked to meet you with your fur on. :)

@Wyatt - It's in Salt Lake City next year...a TAD closer to Oregon. :(

@Solstice - That's a great description (and tip)!

@Becky - So true!

@Pamela - Glad you found it interesting (I had hoped someone would). :) You ask some REALLY good questions. As far as the similar body types, they do have ancient Welsh collie type dogs in common, but if you want in depth, expert ancestry answers, go to this link: http://www.cardicommentary.de/History.htm

There are a few people who use Corgis as working dogs, some in North America (Dewi's sire came from a working farm in Georgia, but the owners have since closed up shop and rehomed some of the dogs). A few months ago I posted this video of a rare working "Cardigan" farm in Wales: http://chroniclesofcardigan.blogspot.com/2011/03/cardigan-corgis-in-wales-its-time-to.html

Most herding has gone the way of the Aussie and Border Collie, though.Elizabeth Keenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07710489912663020646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6616115718711383229.post-29468659250916540872011-09-11T13:28:59.759-07:002011-09-11T13:28:59.759-07:00Ooh, I learned so much about Corgis in this post a...Ooh, I learned so much about Corgis in this post and I still have more questions. I especially want to know how common it is for PWCs to be born with tails. And how did two dogs bred from such different lines end up looking so similar? And do you know of people actively using Corgis for herding?

I think you'd better write another post. And liked the comment about Pembroke's "breaking" their tail with Cardigans have "long sleeves" for tails. Very clever. I wonder if that will make it stick?Pamelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13768027087753712341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6616115718711383229.post-83740256446042476032011-09-11T11:35:36.610-07:002011-09-11T11:35:36.610-07:00Luv your post!
