So Long, Picnik, It's Been Fun

...frolicking in the warmth of your Polachrome sun.
In your final hours, know that I'll remember you fondly
Each time I go bananas with your cousin, PicMonkey.

The sun will set for the final time tonight on the popular photo editing site Picnik.com.

But there's good news:

PicMonkey.com, created by the makers of Picnik, is darn near just as awesome (some things are actually better). And I should know; I've tested it.

See?

And one more...

Basic color editing plus "Urbane" effect at PicMonkey.com

You really should go and try this with your own photos!

Ta-ta!

P.S. Here's a nice, more detailed review about the basic capabilities of PicMonkey.com.

  1. Thanks for the tip. I never really used picnic (unless I found myself in dire need of a photo touch-up while not at my own computers) but I went out to picmonkey just now to play around and it's pretty cool. I thought it was funny that the very first item I tried based on my attraction to it was one of the 'branded' items but I think that's just the way my life goes. ;)

You do have a lovely model for all of your photos. :)

  2. Thanks for the tip. I've been using picnik quite a bit lately, and was disappointed at them closing. I did just update my version of photoscape (a free photo editing program for your computer) and I like the updates in the new edition. I will check out picmonkey though if I need any additional photo editing power!

  3. Thanks for sharing this as I was enjoying using Picnik and though Google was suppose to come up with similar editing I haven't tried it yet. I just got through playing with PicMonkey and it could be fun to use now.

  4. Yep, I went there the other day and had fun playing! I am still going to miss Picnik as I was used to where everything was. I also tried Aviary but it seemed too complicated and not nearly as intuitive. Google supposedly has all of Picnik incorporated into their "Creative Kit" but I couldn't find it....

  5. I was wondering what I was going to do without Picnik! No idea that PicMonkey even existed! Thanks! :)

  6. Hi Y'all,

Wanted to stop and say hello! How are y'all doin'?

Thanks for the review. My Human doesn't edit my photos. What you see is what the camera took. I wonder how'd I look doctored up? Maybe she'll try PicMonkey.

Right now my Human is havin' problems solving why my posts have stopped posting automatically. Sigh :(
It's meant I'm not gettin' around to keep up with everyone.

Hope y'all are havin' a great week!

    Y'all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog
