Best Laid Plans and Other Malarkey

So, this is how our day started . . .

I refuse to take this sitting down!

Do I have a sign on my forehead that says, "Torture Me"?

Really? But I've barely even warmed my bed.

Oh, bother.

Anyone want to guess what happened?

We bet you can't!

So why then, pray tell, (as of approx. 8:32 p.m. yesterday) do we have this?!

Um, I don't know you, but your meow sounds like a barking dog.
You might want to get that checked.
P.S. Please don't hurt me.

Yes, can you believe it?! Something about him appearing outside in the damp, dark night, wailing for his mama (or a warm substitute) to let him in! He didn't even bring his I.D.! And she gave him a room!

How can this indignity be justified? It's just not right!

And now for my side of the story. ;)

Yes, last night, the little kitty (approx 5 mos old) that you see up there was wailing outside in my yard. He was not wearing a collar and although tame (and purring), seemed completely out of sorts. Because I live in a rural neighborhood with few houses and abundant wildlife (as in snakes, owls, bald eagles, hawks, coyotes and even territorial feral cats), I brought him inside, where he remains. He is incredibly sweet and seemingly healthy.

However. He is not my kitten (and heaven knows I don't need one), so I diligently look for his people. (And by diligently I mean social media, posters and a visit to the vet to scan for a microchip [which will happen tomorrow because my local vet's scanner is broken].) If I can't find his people, I will get him vetted (including neuter) and then diligently try to find him another home.

And to think I planned for this to be a regular Wednesday! (she says with a grin)

Poor Jon Farleigh and Dewi. (not really, they were only in "time out" for 5 minutes. they exaggerate. and Maddox is indifferent.)

The kitty (a brown and white tabby/Maddox mini-me) sure is cute, though. Don't you think?

I'll keep you posted.

  1. OMD he's aDOOOOOORable!!! Dog bless you for taking him in. I would likely do the same thing but no kitty (or doggie for that matter) remains on our property for any length of time once they Bella makes her presence known. :}

However, I should warn you, the last time I took a kitty in, no one seemed to want him back. :( And we ended up keeping him. Lucky for him that was during Beau's tenure and not Bella's. Can't wait to read more about him.

  4. The kitty is adorable! So glad the boys weren't in timeout long.

I am glad you took him in. I hope he is microchipped.

My friend's cat once got lost for 3 days. Turned out he had been hanging out outside a house on the next block. The doors look exactly the same and he thought he was home! Maybe this little guy lives close. Have the vet put up a poster.

  8. That's exactly how we added a cat to our pack of four dogs. She picked us out. Resistance was futile.
