My Dream Comment

I recently started reading the blog Cake Wrecks, after weeks of ignoring it in other people's blog rolls. (I thought it was a baking blog.) Anyway (now that you know I don't read baking blogs), today's post on Cake Wrecks brilliantly illustrates some of the "better" comments received over the author's blogging career.

Now, I don't know about you, but I think blog comments (leaving them and reading them) are just about as fun as blogging itself (hint). And if you've ever been the recipient of one of my comments, please know that sometimes I just can't help what my brain leads my fingers to type out. So anyway, the point of this post is to share with you my favorite comment, as lifted (in fragment) straight off Cake Wrecks' post today:

"...I literally threw up a little bit in my mouth, spit coffee all over my keyboard, and peed my pants...."

The actual cake wreck related to this comment is immaterial. What I'm fumbling rambling trying (badly) to say is that since this is sort of a pet "humor" blog (for lack of a better descriptor), to receive any comment indicating my reader's laughter (and perhaps repulsion) brought on with such force as to cause spontaneous bodily function, is like music to my ears eyes. <burp> Sorry.

I tried to think of a picture to post that was both gross and hysterical at the same time, but I failed. So I took a couple lame ones just for fun.

The inside of a raw beef marrow bone. Ew.
(I wouldn't enlarge this if I were you.)
(I told you not to enlarge it.)

Jon Farleigh doing his best Bill Cosby impression:
"I brought you in this world and I'll take you out!"
Here's to throw-up, spit-out drinks and wet seats!

  1. .You win my best read on-the-potty post today! Of course I enlarged the marrow pic, I'm not about to follow some silly instruction :p

I love reading comments too, sometimes more than the post, and commenting hysterically. Sometimes, when I hit the post button, I say a silent prayer that I haven't offended the blogger (too much)!

Thanks for the laugh. I really should go friend that commentor. Sounds like a fearless sort burp :) xox

  2. Ha! Couldn't agree more. P.S.- thanks for MAKING me click on the enlarge image button which then led to a strong urge to burn out my retinas to sear the image of that marrow out of my head! ick! ;-]

  3. @Georgia Little Pea - I think you nailed my genre "Toilet Humor with Pets"! Glad I lightened up your potty break. Thanks for offending me. :)

@Ashley - May you not dream about disgusting crusted marrow bones. :)

  4. When I saw Jon Farleigh's photo I thought 'Bill Cosby' before I even saw the caption :) I also love reading comments on my blog. My blog is still new so I don't get tons of them but I am sure to respond to every one (almost...unless I am deathly ill or got ran over by a bus)

  5. I totally agree with you on getting/reading/leaving comments. It's like blogger-crack....there, did that offend anyone? I am usually a bit over cautious on being PC so maybe I should just let loose with what comes to mind?

Your posts almost always have me giggling, sometimes laughing out loud at work even, so please, please keep up the good work!

  6. @Adventure weiner - Really, he looks like Bill Cosby? I had to squint and rack my brain to come up with that one. :) I'm so glad you've managed to avoid getting hit by a bus.

@Thanks,Taryn. I think you should just be you, btw. I have to remind myself a lot that it's okay if not everyone likes my blog. That's why there are so many blogs to choose from. (But, I still worry about offending - go figure.)

  7. I am not a frequent commenter, but I check the Chronicles several times a day. Stories ranging from funny to hilarious, and two delightful and handsome cardis. One of whom once got stuck on the bottom step.
