In case you aren't familiar, the post title is a twist on the English idiom:
"The pot calling the kettle black."
"The pot calling the kettle black."
This morning...
What I saw:
What I said to Youngest Child (aka: pot): "The dogs (aka: kettles) are just like you; they leave their toys all over the house."
Youngest Child (pot): "Mommy, the dogs (kettles) are spoiled; they have too many toys."
*sigh*
Isn't it great that kettles never, ever call pots black?
:)
:)
In that picture, I see only one spoiled dog!
ReplyDeleteIf I took that picture at my house, Jimmy would be on the rug and Wilson would be giving him a wide berth.
Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteOh my, and on your humans expensive Oriental rug no less.
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
P.S. Blogs with comments that don't pop up won't let me log in as myself. Sorry, I had to use my old journal, but you can get to me from the link there.
@Taryn - JF is a hoarder, clearly. Hw will share, but mostly, this is the scene on the rug. :) Doesn't mean Dewi isn't spoiled, though. :)
ReplyDelete@Hawk - The rug might look expensive, but it isn't. :) It's serving as a toy box for now (since I don't have a basket that the dogs wouldn't chew up).
Thanks for the tip on the commenting (I would've never known). I just changed to a pop-up box. Hopefully, it will solve your issue.

ReplyDeleteHmmm. I think hoarding runs in the family. Georgia hoards toys and chewies from Bogey.
ReplyDeleteCheck out your local garden shop for a flexible plastic trug (http://www.amazon.com/Tubtrugs-SP42BL-10-5-Gallon-Storage-Bucket/dp/B000A63M0O/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1310006523&sr=8-8). We use these to store toys. Georgia will knock it over and drag them all out but she's never chewed on it and we know how much the Princess likes to chew on plastic....
We don't know who's a kettle or who is black, but momma said we agree.

Too many toys??
ReplyDeleteWe never have too many toys!
Happy Wednesday!
Kisses and hugs

RDM - That tub looks promising. I'm sure I can find one around here at one of our many garden stores. I really must do something about the tripping hazards all over the floor. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! When I was a kid I used to say that I'd rather be a dog because they were way more spoiled than me. I'm sure I was exaggerating, but I sure did enjoy saying it!
