Time to Cut It Back (Butt! Butt!...)

Remember Jon Farleigh's summer cut?

Well, to refresh your memory, here was his freshly shorn butt then (early May):

And today:
Corgi Butt or Longwool Sheep? :)

Not that I don't adore laying eyes (and hands) on this virtual "squeeze magnet," it's just that it's starting to get "in the way" (if you know what I mean). :)

And speaking of cutting back (please, no one panic), Jon Farleigh, Dewi and I are taking a blog-cation tomorrow, as we'll be detained in the car for several hours - without so much as a laptop or cellular access.
(Truth: The laptop has a broken monitor and I only just recently upgraded to a texting phone - which having texting kids necessitated - and I still refuse to get a data plan since I'm already on the interwebs way too much.)

And next week?

Well, please don't mention this to my kids, but being that they'll be away visiting their grandparents for the whole week, and I'll be here with no one to clean up after (except the pets), I'M HAVING A "THIS-IS-WHAT-IT-FEELS-LIKE-WITH-NO-KIDS-AT-HOME" PARTY!!

What I'm trying to say is, the blog might be devoid of fresh material - since I'll be having way too much fun being selfish. :D

I've got an idea for some interesting archive posting, though.
Stay tuned. :)

For now, please enjoy my parting gift to you: More of Jon Farleigh and his glorious coat!

The End :)

  1. I love it. It is about as Nugget's is when he is at his best. Might I suggest a lesser trim if it is making your crazy? It is quite lovely, IMO. (Butt, ahem, I don't have to live with it. )

  2. Yeah, Honey's jodhpurs are looking about the same as Jon Farleigh's. I'll probably do a mini trim before leaving for our sail on Saturday but I'm hoping to get her professionally groomed when I get back so she looks pretty for BlogPaws.

    I had no idea what I was missing when I had all those easy-care mutts for so many years. :)

    Hope you enjoy your quiet time around the house.

  3. I love Jon Farleigh so much! He is my Ethan's fuzzy twin! And I deal with pants like that on my Savannah. Grooming tools coming out this weekend to control the pants...and the unladylike long armpit hairs! :)

  5. I don't know how else to say this without sounding slightly perverse... I love furry butts!

    JF's tooshie is almost unrecognizable. I completely understand where you're coming from, though. We find ourselves having to trim Miss Maple's derriere every week!

    Have a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

  6. I trimmed Brother Bogey's pants, tail and ears about 2 weeks ago. His bum hair tends to be more fuzzy than long though so it doesn't get in the way of other functions :)

    Gotta love JF's front leg tufts. Those are just crazy!

  7. I just love JF's butt. Believe it or not, all grown out it reminds me so much of Jeffie's butt. They must be sort of hair butt cousins or something.

  9. Yes, we DO know what you mean :)

    Have a good blog-cation.

  10. @Motorcycle G-ma (N) - Nugget's got longwool sheep in him? :) I'd never cut JF's flowing red locks if they didn't interfere with certain things. I'm going to try and thin it myself with shears this time. Just to provide some clearance. :)

    @Pamela - I bet Honey's back-end looks as lovely as JF's. :) JF and Dewi will be getting the DIY groom for BP. As long as they're clean and matt-free... I, on the other hand, need some serious professional (hair) help. :) Hope you have fun (and learn lots) on your sail!

    @CardiLover - Thanks. :) I found your blog hoping to see Ethan (JF's twin) and your pant-endowed Savannah, but no luck. Do you have pics anywhere? Also, JF's "armpit hair" is getting crazy - grew back in a big chunk after his last groom. Gonna have to do something about that too. :)

    @Wyatt - Thanks! We're trying!

    @Happy Bark Days - LOVE IT! "I love furry butts!" needs to be a song or a bumper sticker ASAP!

    @RDM - yeah, I've noticed the texture differences in JF's and Bogey's fur. JF has Sam's coat but in maximum overdrive. And, yes, the tufts are crazy. :) They remind me of something - but I have to save it for the blog. ;)

    @Talking Dogs - Butt cousins?! Ha ha! He does channel Goldens from certain angles.

    @Julie - Thanks for stopping by!

    @YDWWYW - Thanks. :) And I doo appreciate your pun. :)
