The Good News Is That Mashed Pumpkin Is Still Good for Your Dog's 'Hershey'

The bad news is that it doesn't work for bronchitis (yes, seems my head crud is now a head and chest crud).

But, thankfully today, my doctor fixed me up with something that should knock it out in a few days (lest I lose my sense of humor - oh, the horror!).

Meanwhile, since I'm here talking about crud remedies anyway, I thought I'd use this opportunity to remind everyone about the benefits of feeding plain (cooked) mashed pumpkin to a dog for optimal digestive health (aka the state of the Hershey, aka Code Brown, aka poo).

You'll find all the sweet details here, in my original article from Nov. 15, 2011:

But wait! As a parting gift to you, Jon Farleigh with a visual:

Have a sweet evening.

P.S. I will probably not die overnight, so therefore, will post something tomorrow. However, it might be lame.

  1. Awww. I do hope you feel better soon. Given our recent trips to the vet's office, it may well be time for us to employ some pumpkin at Casa de Bella.

    1. Oh, no, so sorry about Bella's troubles. :( Dewi actually had a bout of colitis today, so that's really where all this pumpkin talk is coming from (not so much about me). In our experience, the stuff has worked wonders. Hope she feels better soon.

    1. Then your Hershey should be all good, Hawk. :) Jon Farleigh and Dewi inhale the stuff, they love it so much.

  5. bronchitis is one up the ladder from crud. awful. i don't know how you keep your sense of humour. maybe just suck soup and sleep instead?

BTW, there are funny ads popping up in front of your blog telling me I've won stuff. what is that?

  6. Thanks, Tucker's mom. :)

zeeFM - JF certainly hit the jackpot with his expressive eyes.

Typist - Well, you must've been the 1 in 100 people (that's what they tell me the odds are) who get the floating pop-up from BlogHer. I don't know about winning stuff, though. Must be part of a blogger product review program.

I wish I could suck soup and sleep - no appetite and stuffiness has made sleep elusive (although, the couch is looking awfully good right now...)

  7. Very funny--thanks for the grins. Sorry you are under the weather, but it hasn't hit your funny bone obviously. Your 'code brown' made me think of my hubby's one criterion for dogs: No "brown eye", which means the tail needs to be long enough or bushy enough, or hang down far enough, that he doesn't see the "Turdinator". :) LOL!

    1. Netherfieldmom - Thanks for reading and for leaving a note! I see from one of your blogs (my, you are busy ;) that you have Pemmies. I can't tell whether they have tails or not, but even if not, their little nubs are just long enough to hide their extra "eye," right? :) I wish someone would inform cats to keep their tails down when their "eyes" are at human eye level.
